Participants: schoolchildren of grades 8-11, counselors of “Selet” specialized summer sessions

“Selet-Arshan” is a specialized summer session for gifted children and youth of the Republic of Tatarstan, which has been carried out since 1998 on the coast of the Black Sea. The first “Selet-Arshan” camp was held in Tuapse and it had 100 participants. “Arshan” is the final session of the summer campaign of “Selet” specialized camps and the majority of its participants are gifted schoolchildren and students who have already taken part in other “Selet” sessions and who have been selected by the “Selet” Expert Council on the basis of their portfolios.

During the 18 days of the session, the schoolchildren take part in the educational programme that is focused on the personal growth of the participants and search of new opportunities for the implementation of their own ideas and projects. One of the well-known projects of the “Selet” community is the “Arshan Mony” (The melody of Arshan) contest of original song that is traditionally held within the “Selet-Arshan” session.
